Brooch material/composition

Greetings,

I’ve been offered this piece if I want it and I am considering purchasing it.

I’d like feedback before I do, what do you think the center is made of? I can’t tell if it’s molded plastic or what. It’s a base metal it’s affixed to and from what I can tell from the pictures it’s possibly glued on?

A very basic description is with it with no idea about age. It’s a newer style clasp. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

 

I think this is a 1960s/70s piece plus or minus. Cannot see the clasp from the photo, but you mention it is a "newer style clasp". I think you are correct the center might be molded plastic. It seems to be glued on to the gold tone metal. Minimal value, IMO.
