They possibly received it from their friend from England. There are no markings on it that I can find. It is 9.75” H x 5.5” W x 2.5” D. Any help identifying what is, where it’s from, or age would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Don't think it's English but need larger photos, perhaps a Clevenger or wheaton? Will have to check some of my books.:cigar::cigar::cigar: Nice Flask though.

The Flask is either a real GX-10 (known as a scroll flask) or in that family as listed in the McKearin & Wilson book (which I don't have!) or an early repo of it. The Iron pontil mark on the base would put it early but I'm not familiar with the neck treatment. This would certainly warrant further investigation! It does not appear to be a Clevenger based on the info I have and I would also doubt if its Wheaton. The molds for this flask were used by a lot of glass makers in varying styles. If real would date from early to mid 1800's American made. Need better pictures!

I spoke with a mold maker years ago, he told me he'd made many many flask molds, carving them into fire bricks, easy to carve (relative to iron), they made wonderful imitation flasks.

    I'll be eternally suspicious.

I posted this to another forum where I know there are some serious flask collectors so we will see.

So far all are pointing to the real deal as far as old, waiting for more info though. These style flasks were made over a long period of time by many makers with molds being bought & sold along the way.

This is the latest info on your flask from another bottle forum,

"I've never seen a repro with a real iron pontil like that. It's absolutely real. I don't have the McKearin and Wilson at work, but I'd certainly put that neck finish in the west, Pittsburg, WV, Ohio...."
