Canton Enamel mystery

It’s painted with much more careful detail than your typical canton enamel box and the design has very European style. On the top of the box is a very European looking crest with lions and a crown above the crest. Around the crest and crown are birds and flowers in a Chinese style.

Below the crest it says simply “MUSEUM”.

I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on that? I was thinking maybe it was made to be sold in a gift shop of a museum but it seemed odd to me that it would not have the Museum name?

The bottom of the box has no marking.

Unfortunately different versions were used for hundreds of years, so it’s difficult to use that alone to date it. But it’s a great place to start :- )
