Here's an old piece I been using as an art piece (dry) flower vase for years.Turns out it's the base of a Japanese Oil Lamp. The bottoms turned & the column id bamboo.Anybody out there know where I could find the missing parts for this ? Need the Burner,Globe & Chimney-Thanks much.
PS-No Asian Art Forum, didn't know where else to post this.

What an interesting oil lamp. I don't collect them , but i would have made an exception for that one.

It's fun & multipurposes as a vase,a doll head base, stick a bouncy long-stem kitty toy in it-whatever .That'll be the sad thing about restoring it-becoming delicate & breakable.I'll prob do it right before I sell it & secure it in the sales vault.
I think the Japanese call farm, country or folk art 'Mingei'- refined but funky stuff.
