Thing thing is? Bell? Receipt thingy?

I’ve seen little wired service bells in this shape and size. Like a little bell hooked up to electricity that you could buzz for the help to come to you. Or was there a spike sticking up through it that you put receipts on? Or something else altogether? Thought it was bronze at first but maybe it’s just a bronzed finish and iron underneath. Another thing from the Italian estate. Thought it looked vaguely Chinese at first but probably not.

I’ve got the find a threaded spike or figure out a way to repurpose it I guess!

edit: I guess it would make a cool stand for a little carving or what have you.

Yes, this is what I remember seeing, DH may have one buried in the garage somewhere..........slap your receipts onto the spike.....you know right where they are!!! If there's a bit of threading in the hole, and there should be, add a bit to the spike and a nut to the underside......one instant receipt holder!!!

Whenever I see one of these I think of Gene Hackman in the Pawnbroker movie... Anyone else remember (OUCH)

 

I was wondering if it would be worth repurposing as a photo or note holder with a bent wire. I bet you can find a cheap part in a thrift store. Google photo holder stand .I know I have several i used in my store to hold sale signs.

 

That’s a good idea. I’m sure I have something laying around that’d work.
