    Hi all!

A seller on ebay has a vintage yellow speckled enamel mug listed for $1,000. Are people nutty?

    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/153523418762

I just came from the thrift shop and happened to find this mug and bought it for $1.29.

Any who, I need help. Can you tell me the age more or less? Its not marked. I left the thrift with 4 mugs, 4 large plates, 4 bowls and 4 smaller 6 inch plates all matching.

Here is a pic of just one mug .

    Thank u all!

They have been sold for over 60 years as camping mugs, plates, etc. Doubt a real date can be put on it.

Or they are trying to attract attention to their site. If you want I have a set of blue camping mugs with same pattern.

    Ya, well, there's this:
1950’s Vintage Matchbook Parrish Hotel Great Bend Kansas xx6

    Starting bid:
    $14,111,747.00

plus $4.08 shipping. The price is one thing, but the shipping cost tells me that the person has to be a real knucklehead.

In case you're wondering, there's 21 hours left and no bidders!

(May be the same thing here, Kiko. But it makes me NOT want to shop with them)

Seller has about 10 unexceptional looking items that were started off at $1,000 & are now knocked down 25% to $750. Suspect it's a way, without doing the research, of making sure some highly collectible piece isn't being given away. We have seen those cases of a particular Fire King bowl or some such selling for an astronomical sum.

There's plenty of this sort of thing going on, on ebay, I could have kicked myself earlier I forgot to bid on an auction which was for 5 old pocket watches and went for 6 pounds the same watches that normally go for about 50 quid a pop. I think the auction was placed in a different category by accident hence why it got only 2 bids.

People used to make a killing on looking for, and finding, listings for expensive items with spelling errors. The search logic and associated code has gotten much better since the early days...

Hey, I could list my Aunt Fanny's dried out cheese sandwich for $10,000. You can list anything for any asking price ;)

I have sold similar mugs but in different colors for about $12 each. That seller is dreaming. Must be a relative of the seller who has the fire king mug at $900.

This is not a good picture but wanted to get aj idea of age and what you would called this bumpy texture on this enamel ware bowl. I found a set of 7 nesting bowls this color and pattern at thrift for $4.99. They are unmarked. Also, any tips on how one would date unmarked enamel ware? Thanks

I had a look around the charity shops today and I could not believe what I saw... there were 6 common stoneware foot warmers that were priced at 25 pounds each, some guy walks in with a holdall bag and buys the lot. It was a shock to see them priced at 25 pounds each but to see somebody actually buy the lot... I'm speechless.

You'd think that with all the people carrying phones they'd have the sense to see how much they go for?

    Its crazy.

Lol I might do that myself... I might list those old Pepsi bottles I collected up from the woods the other week for 350 quid each and see if anybody buys one.
