scent or booze ?

    plug seems to be ground in, airtight.

    That's a hard one.

    It appears to be newer as in mid century (I'm basing this on the applied color). So maybe liqueur.

    I don't think vanity bottles were very common by the 1950s. If a vanity bottle, size would suggest witch hazel and not cologne.

    Those are just my thoughts and I could be very wrong.

    I suppose it depends on how much you like to drink lol

    I tend to agree with clutteredcloset49. The bottom seems relatively unworn from the pic.
