I am looking for some thoughts and opinions on this nude woman sculpture. Sadly she has one broken leg (which I have). What would you call the color of the clay? Any idea where she might have been made? Thanks. She is about 9" tall. nude.jpg nude1.jpg

I'd call the color flesh tone..

I think the clay is a terra cotta? It is a pity she is damaged. nude2.jpg nude3.jpg

I cross my 7s too - picked it up who knows where, but I only look like that in someone's feverish imagination.

I can't remember the details but perhaps someone else will . . .

Isn't there a classical (?of sorts?) painting or famous illustration/print with a young woman (nymph with or without wings) sitting beside a pool of water (small forest pond or at an eddy at the bottom of a waterfall) contemplating or reading a book?

I know there are a few, but the only (semi-famous?) painting I can think of is the one by Howard Chandler Christy (1873-1952) - but the pose is not the same as one used for this sculpture.

    Hi,
I cross my sevens and Z's. Learned it in school to keep from mistakes like 1 and 2.

Maxfield Parrish did a lot of nubile young ladies lounging by pools .

If you add terra cotta as a search term and then check images, you don't get as much "bad" stuff, although I didn't find anything quite like this.
