    Hi folks,

Another odd item to share with you. Found at the museum. It's heavy and solid steel -- star shaped, very corroded. As you can see, it has an end that stands upwards with a snout that points out and it appears that there is a piece that is broken -- could be a similar piece? Anyways, maybe not the best description, but it's an odd thing.

Also, a brief disclaimer -- I appreciate all of your feedback. Unfortunately because I am uploading these from work, I can't always check my Alerts as I can get pretty busy with other projects. I will do my best to chime in from time to time. Cheers!

How about acknowledging the people who helped with your last round of posts before asking for more help.

This kinda reminds me of some stove/oven/heater type insert. Just a wild guess.

I think it looks like part of an old andiron.

    Hi Kronos,

I really appreciate the feedback -- I had this conversation with the moderator of this page and it was mentioned that I wasn't engaging enough with the people who were discussing on my threads -- it didn't dawn on me that this was an issue. As mentioned in my disclaimer, I get super busy with other projects and sometimes there is just no time in my day to answer or reply to what people post. I will try my best from here on out.

Cheers! and always appreciate your comments -- you've got a solid 90% success rate on these, btw.

That's a solid guess. I Googled that and I can see a variety of different versions, but similar in some ways -- my guess is it was used for a stove -- just not 100% sure. Thanks!

Just a simple click on the like button for posts is enough really. It at least shows the people replying that you're reading and appreciating their help. Sorry if I came across too forceful or blunt in my first comment. I like your posts. Mystery tools have always been an interest of mine.

It's really difficult to actually place it with anything -- it could have been part of a piece of machinery.

Stars with log are masonry building supports. The iron rods in the building end with these stars on the outside.
