Featured Bought a little fan - never thought I would!!

    This $2 fan piqued my interest at my local antiques/junk shop.
    It was bamboo not plastic and had some wear indicating it was not
    brand new tourist ware and had a finely detailed transfer printed
    image. The text was hand done but didn't know what it said. I'm thinking
    1970s tourist ware but I would like to hear from the fan experts here.
    I know you are out there. Come on out of the closet.:)
    What do you think??

    Had a little trouble picking the lock from the inside.:inpain::playful:

    I agree with it being a very pretty 1970s Chinese printed fan, of the type used by Chinese themselves and sold in Chinese shops all over the world. A little big for a handbag, so probably used for display.

    In the 80s fans were sold in Chinatown, San Francisco. I loved them as a little girl. I remember some of them being like this and some more brightly colored.

    This looks similar to me but I’m not an expert by any means - go by what others say :- ) I’m just a 40yo with fond childhood memories of Chinatown fans.
