Glows in Black Light Navajo Pinion Pine Pitch Pottery

I accidentally discovered that pine pitch pottery glows under black light, while lighting up my corner cupboard, expecting only the vaseline/uranium glass things to glow.

My black light pics of the pottery didn't turn out very good, the batteries are low in the black-light and I didn't have an assistant to hold it for me so I could use two hand with the camera. It's actually much more spectacular in real life.

Does anyone else have pine pitch pottery and a black light? Will you check and see if yours glows green, too?

I've Googled and can't find anyone else has ever described this or what's in the pine pitch that makes this happen.

 

Ooops. I guess that should be pinon pine, not pinion, LOL!

I bet your cabinet looks wonderful. I plan to have a cabinet for vaseline glass one day

 

It is a tongue twister, isn't it...?!
Well, I have to copy and paste to get the little tilde in Piñon, and I now have looked and see it can be spelled Pinyon, also.

Heehee... It's a messy mish-mash of everything under the sun in there. I have only 4 pieces of vaseline or uranium glass in the cabinet.
Other surprising things, besides the Navajo Pinyon Pine pitch pottery glow too. I'm going to be posting more of those soon, hopefully.
