Cancerous Japanese mixed metal vase age help

I think it is Japanese. Little 6" heavy vase. Has a brass or bronze exterior with some white metal showing through. Lots of small cancer spots like rust? and the greenies on the bottom. I am thinking Japanese because of the crane, And old. But how old?

A comparable on Etsy. As usual I cannot vouch for the seller's description. More or less the same height at six and a half inches. I thought the bird was a kingfisher also when I looked at your pictures.

Weird, that rectangular vertical cut-out on the back of yours with the blob of solder next to it. I'm mystified why someone did that.

My thoughts were that cut out might have had the maker mark inside it. But just a thought.

Bulldog-I had one years ago.The rectangular mark on the side had been punched-out for a lamp cord to run through w/ the bulb socket rammed on the top.Don't know if factory produced or home handy-man hack.
