Featured Wavecrest sugar bowl & cream pitcher

    Hello boardies. I picked up these 2 last week and I'm winding if there's anything I can do to clean up the fittings. Are they silverplate with all the silver gone? I used some Hagerty's silver foam on the pitcher and it brightened a bit but not a lot. Any tips appreciated!

    It is also possible that the mounts were intentionally darkened by the maker. This was a common thing circa 1900, plus or minus about 10 years.

    I have had a few items with all or parts finished like that and believe me, there is no way to get rid of darkening.

    Thank you! I will give the sunshine cloth a try. If I can't clean it up, I'll sell them as is.
