Metal box, what it was used for?

    I saw this box with an inner lid and small compartments. The box can be locked, which makes me think what it contained was valuable. I think it is a military box, but I can't identify the crest box 1.jpg box2.jpg box3.jpg . Thanks.

    I don't think military. More inclined to suggest the box held scales for weighing precious metals.
