I bought a new backpack today which is large enough to put my metal detector inside and a small shovel, I wish I had found more things to show y'all but unfortunately I've just been digging nothing but trash so far I might knock metal detecting on the head for now and do a few weeks of dump digging until the plowed fields become available. I just thought I'd give an update... I may do some metal detecting this evening.

My find of the day isn't that photogenic. My sister asked me if I had my old Terry Pratchett books; she wanted some for my niece. Mine were all library books. This morning, first tag sale I hit... bingo. A stack of 10 of them. I got silver jewelry for under melt too, but books.

Another two estate sales this morning. The first one seemed to think everything they had belonged in a museum or at least called museum quality prices. The second one had a previous resident whos entire vintage wardrobe I aspire to reach one day.

Unfortunately the lady was much taller and had a very different body type. I did manage to snag a wooden closet hanger/shelf, a beaded purse, a beaded clutch and 1 silky puffy bag. She took very good care of her items from what I can tell. Not a bead out of place. 94063CBD-3B64-4FD7-8375-C04D50BCE316.jpeg

From the latest house clearance a selection of silver coins from Portugal, Canada, USA, Egypt and Netherlands & Dutch Curacao.

US coins are a War Nickel 35% silver and a 1849 Half Dime.
The Canadian Quarter has been holed

Also a selection of 9k and 22k gold.
I've removed the movements from the watches.
The coin is a 22k gold 20 Francs from Switzerland, looks like someone stood on it so its scrap (£240)

I'll bet that holed coin was on someone's fob. I'd say you hit the jackpot.

My photograph for the day is the silver and pearls I brought home along with some bullion embroidery pieces from India. Paid $4 for the pile. The bracelet weighs 22 pennyweights, currently about $18 in scrap. It's unengraved however so I can sell it as is.

The second shot is from a few weeks ago, at a random tag sale I found before grocery shopping. Kuba/Kreol rhinestone bracelet. This one probably is headed straight to my hoard.

Latest finds. Went to a thrift shop that had recently upgraded their store to a larger location. Never found anything in their old shop but found a few items today.

Maybe the handles/stems were designed to be jabbed into something(they look to have very pointed tips) ...maybe whatever meat you were serving, or simply set into a small toothpick container, or something similar.
