Majolica Fern & Leaf Plate ?

    Here's another Thrift find today.It's 7" long by 6 1/2" width simply stamped 'ENGLAND' on the back. I've found what looks to be the original version 'Etruscan Fern On Leaf Plate' made by an American Co.- Griffen Smith and Hill in Pennsylvanian .

    I dunno about knock-off. Maybe a common mold on both sides of the pond? Post 1891 in date, though.

    Yep-Country of Origin import laws and the common mold theory makes sense.

    The American ones often copied the British. That design started much earlier.
