Yet more exploration of my family history & vintage photos.

It’s 1942, our family had a few independent Bobbysoxer sweater girls who drove their own fast cars *Bobbysoxer was a term used to describe teen-aged girls who wore saddle shoes with ankle socks, the term came to use around 1942 and by 1944 was widespread terminology.

Standing proud and smiling by her 1938 Pontiac Silver Streak. This was fairly rare in this era to see women drivers let alone having a car as well, the percentage was around 80% male drivers to the women at about 20%. Yay girl power!
