I thought it was somewhat unusual. Can't tell if it's a woman or a girl, and no luck when searching M L Cochran, or L M Cochran.
Oil on canvas, the frame looks 70's to me but I am not sure. Maybe unknown artist but I still think it's sort of neat.
    Framed measurements are 24" x 48".
Your thoughts are much appreciated and thanks for your time.:cat:

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Quite the waif... in a demure little... nightie? Her "look" is 70s-ish to me... longer parted hair, sorta natural makeup, teal was a big color in late 60s into 70s, I think. Her face is the best part, for me. Good luck with it.

Thank you antidiem and galeriagila:cat: I appreciate the help. It's seems to me like whomever painted it had some skills. It has some personality me thinks.
Could I ask for some help with how to describe it if I were to try and list it?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Key words... if it were a painting I had done, I would say...
    70s
    painting
    sexy pretty beautiful
    girl
    woman

That's probably what people search for... and then... to draw them in further...
    haunting moody enigmatic Mona-Lisa-like?

DANG eBay for making title entries/titles so limited/short!

What a bizarre position! How is she crouched like that?

Hi Book! I don't think it's a "crouch" but more a side seated position. The artist's work looks bit naive although the face is very well done, even with the BLUES.

Tyledom, I'd use MCM and BIG EYE GIRL in my title even though it's not exactly that (I believe circa 1970s) because this sort of art movement that best describes it started in the 1960s.

She looks to be a HIPPY CHICK with FLOWER POWER and possibly a LOVE CHILD.

So perhaps you can find some era key words and I never care about spam! The BLUES make it appear to be a form of REALISM birthed from POP ART.

I believe those were by Keane but lately to find it wasn't him but his wife!

Yes KOT, "Keane" did the big-eyed girls + thanks for the article.
    *smiles*

I had some Keane prints on my bedroom wall, think it was the late 1960s.
Next to my blue Beatles poster! haha!

Tyle, I think you may have found another treasure here.
I think I've seen this painting before but I cannot remember where.
Possibly in the Louisiana area. Perhaps there were prints made of it?
I cannot search on an image in google but perhaps someone can.
I do feel I've seen it before..

I think it is in the style of one of the old New Orleans Jackson Square portrait artists but I cannot find this artist online yet.

Well, gollie I sure hope so!:D that would be wonderful!
It's so weird how this painting has grown on me. I don't usually get that way. I even hung it up on my wall a couple of days ago. I don't know yet if I will keep it, or sell it.
Thanks again for all the great help & all of your time.:)
