    Hi again!
This diamond bracelet belonged to my grandmother so it has a wide potential age window. It is stamped 14k gold and the latch for the box clasp is marked P-5. I'd just like to get a better idea of how old it could be based off of its design. IMG_8306.jpeg IMG_8310.jpeg IMG_8295.jpeg IMG_2200.jpeg

Thank you for the help everyone

Thank you! It's a beautiful bracelet. Although, the diamonds really don't have much shimmer in person for some reason :(

likely because of the way they're cut.....

In the bottom photo the far right diamond looks different than the others in the photo. The "table" on diamonds should be 53-58% of the stone diameter, the lighting on the other stones isn't right to see much of anything.

Did she wear it a lot?
    It might be dirty.

Get a cup or small bowl. Put the bracelet in, spritz it with 50-50 ammonia and water, add a drop of Dawn dish detergent, warm water and swish for a couple of minutes. Rinse well and see if the diamonds sparkle.

Don't use this method with pearls or soft stones like opals.

Well I am not a joolie, but I think the tennis bracelet became really the thing when Chris Everett, tennis player wore the one she owned. Was there a thing called a tennis bracelet way before that era.
Was that the 70's 80's. Not sure, I have one here, but don't wear it anymore since I lost the first one and am terrified I will lose this one too.
    Good luck.

That is when the name started being used, but it will be interesting if someone knows how long the style has been made :)

I have that exact bracelet. Of course, I cannot find it now since I've moved things around to move. I stopped wearing it years ago because it developed a terrible kink in it. Tried to unload, but with little to no value in used small diamonds, I though I'd hang on to it in case I wanted the gold some day. While I can't find the bracelet right now, I found the receipt (just as valuable - :bored:.) I purchased it in 1995. So that gives you some reference. Full retail was over $3K, but the store was closing so I paid just over $1K. I hope it's not a housewarming gift for the new owners....

Stylistically it doesn't look earlier than 1970s to my eye.

    Nice piece.

I'm wondering if that is just an illusion from the photo? I think all of the gems look similar in person. I think the table of each gem appears to be a little bigger than 53% to 58% of the diameter? I still have a lot to learn when it comes to diamonds. Here are some more photos of the stones that are easier to see.

Thank you, that is really helpful to know. Good luck with finding your bracelet. Misplacing valuables is so frustrating!

I always wondered why they were called that because it just sounded so random. Marie- I'm also curious how long the style has been around for. One website I found says that they were popular with men and women in the 1920's. They were called eternity bracelets at the time.

I can't remember very well because it's been 13 years since she passed. It definitely needed a more thorough cleaning because your recommendation made a big difference. Thank you!
