Artist Will Hollingsworth

Hosting an auction Sept. 15th that includes an artist whose personal collection I was fortunate to procure from an apartment in NYC's West Village. Will Hollingsworth was an illustrator for travel magazines in the 20s and 30s, and for Woman's Home Companion. That is how he made a living. We have a few original illustrations from his professional work, but mostly works that show a much wider range of talent, sketches and woodblock prints of London and France from the 20s, graphics he drew for family holiday cards, portraits of family members and friends, and complex abstracts in oil that he painted for pleasure and pastime. There is another artist named William Hollingsworth, who is very well known. Hopeful that this sale brings some credit and praise for this very talented artist.

Auction is in two days, and at last night's preview, the most questions posed were about,,,,,,,the Victorian His and Hers Parlor Chairs.
I remain hopeful as well that this sale gives overdue credit to artist Will Hollingsworth.
