    Royal #10, which came out in the 1910s. If it has TWO glass panels on each side, it's an older model. If it has only ONE glass panel on each side, it's a later model. These were really common from about 1914 to about 1930-ish. These things weigh a ton, though. Last time I tried to pick one up, I think I gave myself a hernia.

    Yes totally agree they are very heavy for the size .

    There was one for sale in a local antiques shop once, and I dragged it out of the display-cabinet where it was stored, to take a closer look at it.

    Carrying from the cabinet to the front desk was only a few yards, but that damn thing nearly tore my arms off!
