Blown Glass Vase/Votive-Maker ?

    I don't know much abt glass & this could be a student piece,but for $3-why not ?
    The basics-5 1/4" high/weighs 3 lbs/ 1/4" thick at rim/ ground base/flecks of sand or grit in the glass /no signature.Any guesses on maker or age ?
    Thanks as allways for any info.

    Usually a sandy bottom like that indicates Chinese manufacture, but this one is a puzzle. Seriously nice whoever did it.

    My Lady thought it a nice student piece,but it's pretty little thing & heavy as a bowling ball ! I do like the iridescence & bubble explosion.
    It'll make a nice little votive in the john/loo.
    PS-Thanks for the Chinese sand tip.
