Featured Help Id the carver of this damaged soapestone bird

This little 6" carved bird is signed and numbered on the bottom along with the sticker.
I think the signature is K D 66 for 1966?
As you can see there is damage, and he/she even has had the head reattached.
The repair was very good, but you can see the seam.
I bought it for $3.00 just to research and find out who made it.

E9-188 may be an Inuit disc number, though I'm not seeing that particular number in my own quick searching.

 

On a shelf no one will notice the repair.

E9-188 comes up as Joe Kavik but the initials don't match?

That "KD" may be syllabics (Inuktitut written characters).

 

Here is one example of his.I don't know if it helps much. The pics are blurry but I can make out the
E9-188. And it has the same sticker!
