Oval Tin Lined Copper Box

Lovely little copper box from the £1 table at the antiques fair.
Google leads me to understand that tin protects whatever in in the box from the effects of the copper but what do you think this little box would have been for?
First thought was snuff but it’s quite a bit bigger than most snuff boxes I’ve seen.Not that I’ve seen many though thinking about it Or just a trinket box?
For its simplicity it’s nicely made and is a pleasing item to hold, the lid fits perfectly and the copper shows signs of being hammered into shape.
c9.5cm across.
Any age to it or a modern piece?

At c9.5cm across it could still be a snuff box, which I think it is.

It is also big enough to be used as a trinket box. Or maybe even for small mints or candies?

pretty box ( I love boxes )

you can put vitually anything in a box this size, including tie clips ..
