I bought this one on a flea market for 50 cent, the seller had no idea what it was. It looks pretty old, judging by the look, German baroque? It has a weird mark on its bottom, some angelic(?) figure and the letters C.K

An angel mark generally means European. Where are you (and the piece?)

I don't think they are salts. I collect salts and I doubt they'd put salt in metal without a glass insert and these are too ornate inside.

It seems to be an old form however I'll just caution that pewter has been faked and ages quite quickly on it's own. The plain bowled ones are commonly referred to as salts but I don't know about the ornate bowl or if it was their actual use.

I found a reference in the book Zinn by von Frieder Aichele (but it is in German which I don't speak). I think the translation for the pieces shown is spice bowls.

I find the mark a little hard to make out. It seems to be a figure but I'm thinking maybe not an angel. There are so many marks and I've not found one exactly like yours yet. I'm attaching one from the above mentioned Zinn that is a form I think maybe more like yours with a figure holding I think a sword and scales. Not sure.
