I found a brooch like this one, does not look antique to me, likely vintage. I'm not sure if I should spend £50 on it but I really like it and am about to cave in.... just wanted your opinions on whether I should avoid it though. if it's too much?

 

It partly depends on your purpose. Do you intend to enjoy and wear, add to your collection or resell?

It seems some Trifari bird brooches are worth more.
But I am by no means a Trifari or even costume jewellery expert, so please wait until others more knowledgeable come along.
It is really cute.

 

One sold on eBay for $25/£20

 

I am definitely not one of the jewelry gurus here on the forum but in my opinion, if you could be a little patient you will be able to get one for less.

I did a search for this piece & saw at least 2 identical pins that sold for $20 & $30.

 

I'm not an expert but... if you're not in a hurry to acquire this piece for your collection, it might serve you to wait for others to come up for sale.

I am no expert but honestly, I would spend that much on this cute duckling only if I am desperately loving it. But if you indeed like it that much then.... There is a saying in my language that "Kef (pleasure) is priceless"
