I wonder what this is?

    I have this box, which is very heavy by the way. So as you can see on the picture it has 2 different compartments, does anyone know what or what this is for?

    It looks some what like a coal scuttle box. Only they usually have a carry handle. And only one compartment. Size?

    Or, depending on the size, something to collect ash from ashtrays. The kind of thing they used in hotels or bars.

    But we need more photos, and size please.

    What I was thinking. Some sort of ash tray and maybe tobacco holder.
