This is a bit of a show and tell but I am thrilled with this! Bit of a splurge for me at 5 euros but I know that's a steal. The seller provided zero info, so I had to guess. I thought 40s garnet or Czech glass. Amazingly all 132 stones are intact and in stunning condition.

Got it home and fiddled with it for pictures, and found 3 sneaky marks! 1 for G1 (garnets yay!) and both a 900 stamp and a Czech 1957-62 hare mark for 900 silver!

Vintage Bohemian garnets and silver bracelet and earrings. I didn't get a photo of the earring backs but they're screw threaded with fancy backs. I'm pleased my guess wasn't far off this time. These will stay in my collection for quite a while!

There is nothing I don't like about your garnets! I love the fact that the earrings have the same shape as the bracelet, but are different.

And I adore garnets! Especially in clusters.

    SIGH...

Thank you one and all! I'm chuffed. I feel very lucky that my recent purchases have turned out to be quite rewarding, which in turn made me feel comfortable to spend more than I normally would.

It is for me! I grew up on vide greniers (carboot sales) where everything is 2 euros and 4 is a lot. That doesn't always work when it comes to vintage/antiques but I think this is the most I've paid for any one item in my collection haha! But the last few weeks' purchases will give me some great returns when I sell what I'm selling so I 'splurged' on this!

And can we use my new word parure to describe this set or does it have to have more pieces. If i use a new vocabulary word it is more likely to stick with me. Lovely set. My daughter's birthstone so I too am jealous.

Rachel congrats-You've got a superb eye ! I'd guess a few of our 'Joolies' have been doing this a few weeks longer than you,but your young instincts are great.
As a yank antiquer the British Carboot experience goes into my UK 'bucket list'. Haven't seen prices like this in the US since the late 70's.I just found a Lalique at a Garage Sale for $15,but the 30p to 5 euro finds are gone-least where I live.
Of course I've never picked Alabama or Mississippi so who knows ?.
The lowest cash layout good finds seem to generally be these Boots finds(yea/nay?).

It happens here in Connecticut, but not nearly as often as it used to. Too many episodes of the Roadshow have aired.
