Profile on Cast Brass Disc: Who Is She, Please?

Is that a Roman nose? I count 15 stars. 4" Diameter, ~7 oz.

As the back shows, it's been machined after the foundry work. The hole is threaded, looks like 5/16-18. but might be metric.

Something about the pose looks ancient, but the stars on that unusual hair dress seem to point to the US of A. I don't think it's 20th C, bwdik. Also I can't figure out what it would have been used for...Can you?

Her profile is Greek/neo-classical (look at the Statue of Liberty).

She appears to be wearing a "Phrygian" cap, a form that dates back to antiquity, but which became associated with liberty in both the American and French revolutions. It was also adopted as the mascot for the Paris Olympics:

The style of the cap, with the extended side/neck flaps, is a less common form. Most I saw were French. But I can't explain the stars.

@wlwhittier - if you can determine the threads are metric, that would point to a French origin.
