    Hi,
This mark looks familiar, but I can't place it. The casserole looks like Staffordshire transferware. I haven't been able to identify the pattern or the mark. Maybe someone can help?

Could be mid-19th c Staffordshire. There are groups that can identify the transferware pattern which may lead to an ID on the factory. I don't recognize that impressed mark.

It's definitely similar, SIS. However, the Meigh pattern seems more delicate or refined. There were a lot of Italianate patterns though. There's a bit of an aesthetic look to the handles and knopf, so I think post 1860.

Here is what I see. There certainly were many patterns of this type and variations used by more than one makers sometimes. Meigh was followed by Old Hall Earthenware and I've wondered if his patterns continued. Just thinking out loud (so to speak)

This is an example of an Old Hall Earthenware impressed mark (from a very different type of item)

    And a few examples.

Kent and Sis, very interesting observations - many thanks! SIS, that Old Hall impressed mark certainly looks right and I'll try to do a bit more research but I think that you and Kent are both on the right track. Again, much appreciated....
