Featured BEAUTIFUL OLD BOY - WOODEN TOY

Hey to all of you good people!
I hope you all are having wonderful summer.

Are any of you have any knowledge about wooden toys? This gorgeous boy come to my eye on one of our tours through Italy flea markets, it was so intriguing to me that i had to have it. Althoug i dont have any knowledge about this type of toys.

The seller was an old guy claiming that this is very old toy, but like you all know it doesnt matter what the seller says, it was just interesting that he claims that this toy is pre Pinocchio, meaning that he seems to claim that the toy is older than 1883. I dont know why he even mentioned Pinocchio even though it is a story about a wooden toy, i thought to mention maybe it has some meaning, maybe they did a lot of wooden toys depiction Pinocchio and he thought it is worth mentioning that it is not from that period? I dont know but the wooden boy is charming any way. He has some wacky repairs though but it dont bothers me.

Do any of you have some thoughts on this one ? I really would love to know some more.

I'm pretty sure this is a type of toy that has been reproduced in volume from Indonesia. Hope yours is the real deal, but take care.

 

Oh thank you very much AJ for your beautiful thought! we stayed on the dry even though i am from area that was hit hard, but we were indeed very lucky, some of my friends wasnt so lucky but at least we slovenian are hard people and when it comes to trouble we know how to stand together so all will be fine.

Unfortunately I am still none the wiser on my lappy. Something doesn't look right...a jigger would have a hole in the back as well that I can't see here​

 

Hey, i maybe found out how it is called if it isn't a jigger doll. Peg wooden doll... any thoughts if it is any peg doll collector here ? Am i on i right path?

I'm suspicious of those worm holes. They are too even as if someone had a pin and just poked a lot of holes the same size. I can't tell from the photo - are there any on the inside of the upper arms? There should be different size holes.
