Old rhinestone ring help ID, description and dating?

    Hello everyone,
    Any help would be appreciated.
    This ring used to be silver plated. marked on the inside S925. But as you can see it is almost all gone.
    I counted 98 stones. Is this unusual or just cheap bling?

    It's such an unusual design for such an inexpensivish ring. Could it possibly have been a mock-up...to show potential buyers?

    Odd it was marked 925, if silverplate. It looks like an elaborate costume ring, more modern than vintage would be my guess. Maybe Chinese.
