I found these at my mother's house. All I know about them is they either a) came from my great grandmother who had them from my great grandfather when he was in the army and stationed in japan or b) my father purchased them during the gulf War when he was stationed in japan. But not quite sure. Having trouble identifying the maker, any input is appreciated.

 

If you're on FB, a Japanese pottery group might shed some light on this torii gate mark.

 

Did you try looking at Japanese marks on gotheborg.com?

 

I did and did not see it. BUT I also tried focusing on the Kutani section because of the little Kutani-like symbol lower left side of the gate.
