Vintage Aluminum top for a broiler pan or Grill Rack

    Vintage Aluminum top for a broiler pan or Grill Rack
    Dimensions are about 16 1/2" x 10 7/8" x 1".
    I would like some assistance on determining whether
    this is an aluminum top for a broiler or is this a grill rack?
    Is a grill rack something that goes inside a roaster to lay meat on?

    Also is a pan insert. I thought for steaming but probably more so for draining the fat as meat cooks in the oven.

    Does not look like it would work as a broiler pan.

    That is a great picture, a lead that I can continue to research to determine whether it is for steaming or for draining meat fat as it cooks. Thank you.
