Oddball pinback button from the Chautauqua Sesquicentennial in 1952. " I have been Pardoned - I can wear my face nude until Aug. 3, 1952 ".

No makeup? No face paint? No need for a mask?

Maybe gentlemen attendees were expected to have facial hair unless pardoned?

    Weird.

Have a feeling this is for the ladies, since it's about being allowed to do something that was probably the norm 150 years ago, & then expecting to have to do it again when the celebration is over.
