Featured Odd silver earrings- what’s missing?

Not something I've seen before, but they certainly have age.
Arts & Crafts maybe?

Given the rather complex construction, something weighty and metal. Maybe a decoration similar to the rest of the earrings, so also with those silver granules. Maybe even another inverted teardrop shape.
But you could attach a pretty cab to that.

 

I’m thinking much older than arts and crafts. I’m also thinking Berlin ironwork. Those are old ear loops.

Some pieces had inset plaques.

 

Enameled copper metal plaques would be my first guess, but I've never had Berlin iron jewelry in my hands.

 

They sometimes had things like Wedgwood jasperware or those Tassie ones.

 

That would make sense. If these are as old as Berlin iron, no wonder the glue let go.

I considered that for a minute, but then decided that Berlin ironwork is much more delicate and intricate. Berlin ironwork replaced precious metals, so it had to have the same precious feel and look, only in black.
The examples you posted are also much more delicate and intricate than K's mystery earrings.

The loops on K's earrings are silver(tone), which you don't see on Berlin ironwork. And if you look at the backs and sides of the earrings, you can see some more silvery parts, not black all over like Berlin ironwork.

Agree with you (surprised?), not Berlin iron!
The metal has to be identified, my feeling is silver or silvered metal. May have had a riveted metal decor in the middle

I have tested them and are definitely silver.
