Ceramic 'vases'

    Just scooped these two thingy bobs. The design is screaming German at me but not really come across German markings like them. I am used to German stuff having numerals on the base whereas these two say 'foreign' and 'hand made'. The one with the handle is 30cm tall, the other one a tad shorter.

    Foreign often means German(y).;)

    Yes, in this case Germany, but it was also used on some Japanese items, too. This was after WW2 when feelings about Germans and Japanese were still pretty strong.

    The other post war use is Italian,

    And occasionally, in the sixties, Swedish and Scandinavian for some reason. I’ve known aseda glass with Foreign labels. Oh, and Taiwan.
