Thanksgiving Greetings to All of You...Gobble Gobble!

I'll add individual pics of these later. I can't determine if they were contemporary to the war effort, or produced/published later...an' if so, how much later. They're shown here in 8 1/2" X 11" ring-binder plastic-pocket sheets. All, I believe, are single-sided, blank on the back.

Pretty striking, compared to current forms of patriotic graphic design. Some of these are signed, with names of famed artists of those times.

If any of you have familiarity with these or similar mini posters, please tell me what I've got. Thanks for lookin'!

After removing them from their plastic pockets, it becomes clear that they are all of 2 layers, probably for stiffness. Faintly visible through the wait backside are other images, printed on one of the sheets. So these are possibly 'original sized' from magazine ads for recruitment an' bond-sales. I'm not too disappointed...

More tomorrow, folks...time to go stuff my face with Seasonal Delights, which are rumored to include Oysters Rockefeller, fresh from the chill waters of Marrowstone Island. Hope y'all are similarly occupied!

I was engaged in mass Brussels Sprouts destruction. That was in addition to the turkey and stuffing.

My Uncle was manning one of those Howitzers in WWII. He bent down to pick up another round when a Kamikaze pilot slammed into the ship. The rest of his crew that were up right were taken out by the fighter but he survived just because he was bent over like the sailor in the Pic. The ship sank and he survived 5 hours in the ocean. That's just the thought that went through my head when I saw that particular recruiting poster.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

One of my mother's favorite dishes! But here in the Midwest it is more difficult to get good ones in restaurants.
