Hi everyone. I started selling vintage and antiques on EBay in 2000 and I still miss the early vintage and antique boards we had in those early days. When they erased so much of the information and resources there it was heart breaking. I learned so much and I still have good friends I met through those boards. Life has taken some unexpected twists. Tuesday, I’m having major spine surgery to repair crushed vertebrae, and to biopsy it to see if it is indeed a metastatic cancer focal point which caused it to crumble. I have an 11 yr old daughter and my son is in college working towards a history PhD. We all love history so much. While I stopped actively selling years ago and just sell sporadically, now is “that time” where I need to let some of my favorite pieces find their next caretakers. Now a disabled single mom with looming medical bills, there is no more debating or putting it off. I will be asking for information and help so I apologize in advance. I have a few fun pieces though. One cool piece a vintage signed Frederick Mosell production mold for a large necklace, big pendant and big chain in a very unique design as often his pieces were. A ruffled brooch I think could be unsigned Schreiner, Miriam Haskell prism earrings, Boucher fur clip, Weiss, some fun pieces I’ll need help with as a I’m definitely a bit out of the loupe (ha ha.) Until they stabilize my vertebrae Tuesday with cement and it has a bit of time to heal, I can’t sit up or walk, so I will take photos once I’m through this next little hurdle. Baby steps and checking off goals one at a time! And, I’ll get to enjoy the pieces again taking them out to look and photograph instead of them just collecting dust in a drawer. There’s always a blessing if you look for it!

    Welcome!
I started selling on eBay in 1999 and I miss the discussion boards, too... but there was a lot of drama there and you won't find much here. :)
Hopefully, you enjoy your time with us, now!

Welcome! I started selling on eBay in 1998 to help offset medical bills from my two year son who had stage 4 cancer. We had so much on the boards and sometimes the 'pinks' would come along and give you a $20 credit voucher for helping others.

Welcome fellow joolie! I was on the old eBay boards too - got off when the whackadoodles took over the asylum and pink slaps flew like skirling starlings. Good luck on Tuesday.

Welcome and I hope your surgery will be helpful to you! Many here migrated from the Ebay boards so you're in good company.

Welcome, Belladawnas! Let's hope for good news regarding your biopsy tomorrow and a quick recovery from your surgery.

Can't wait to see your jewels. :) I had an unmarked Schreiner brooch that the joolies here helped with a few years ago. They got me in touch with the Schreiner family and the daughter was able to verify it was one of theirs.

I was an eBay boardie starting in 2001. It was so sad to see it go, but like the others I don't miss the pink slaps or chaos that it spiraled in to at the end. It's so much better here!
