    Hi All,

Am hoping someone might have some guesses as to the country of origin and/or maker of this hand painted flower pot. Am wondering if it may have had a lid and was used as a biscuit jar. It stands 5-1/2" tall. It measures 5-3/4" wide at the rim and 4-3/8" at the round foot. The outer rim of the foot is not glazed. Staffordshire Flower Pot 1 mystery french.JPG Staffordshire Flower Pot 2 mystery.JPG Has a drain hole drilled in bottom. Hand numbered 1529 over 77. No lines through the 7's. Mark with 3 dots in circle with what looks like a smiley face.

    Any help is much appreciated.
    TIA
    Kathy

European hard-paste porcelain, Jardiniere, decor reminiscent of Russian stuff ...eastern Europe anyway.

I had a similar mark on a coffee set that was identified as OS Prussia. This pot doesn't look Prussian but the way the numbers are done does look similar to the way the numbers are done on German and Austrian pieces.

Can you try to take a few close ups of the mark, please?

Am still working on this one and may be getting closer. Am wondering if it is a MARX & GUTHERZ Carlsbad Austria mark. Have found the same mark in rust on a trefoil shaped bowl numbered 1457/1 with the European style 7. Found a plate numbered 1445/76 w European 7 with moon & star mark in black. Does anyone know if these are Marx & Gutherz?
