porcelain cat

    Mine seemes to be handpainted and has markings to the bottom.

    Not sure how old it actually is and I wonder when it might date from.

    It measures 13 inches long by 8 inches wide by 5 and half inches high.

    Appears to be 'Famille Rose'- type modern transfer printed item. Produced in China, of decorative value only.

    May be partly hand-coloured, but the main design is usually laid by transfer.

    A little bit of artificial aging there on the bottom. Never a good sign.

    Looks hand painted and I'd have bought it as I have a soft spot for all things Chinese, especially famille rose. What the others say rings true though. 20th C. Repro but charming.
