Russian? Solid gold egg pendant!

    I found this egg for $5 the other day. On the jump ring it is marked AU and then something I can't decipher. I haven't had the diamonds tested yet and I am not sure on the karat either. It is a cool piece but I don't think it is Russian as it lacks the proper hallmarks. Any ideas on this piece?

    Is it marked for gold? Did you test it? Looks like the "diamonds" are glued in, the jump ring is not soldered, I'm not sure of the quality :(

    About 6 years ago I went to a museum showing Faberge enamel work, there were tons of eggs for sale in the gift shop. Maybe this is one of those?

    Those are glued in rhinestones, but if this is Chinese ... who knows. I've seen weirder.

    I knew the quality wasn't all there but the AU mark had me enticed... it is indeed just costume jewelry not gold. Oh well!
