Antique pair of chairs identification

    Trying to work out any further info on these two chairs. Apologies for grainy photos the file limit here is challenging!
    They have Cope makers mark coasters but not a lot else. Pretty sure the upholstery is original Oxblood velour (?)

    any idea / info would be marvellous.

    In the UK I think they are described as 19th century country house style chairs.

    Likely 1870 or so. I very much doubt that this is the original upholstery; probably 1930s-50s. Actually, I’d like to see the upholstery removed from the frame. I suspect that it is obscuring the original lines to some extent.

    Ah. Good to know. I was wondering if there were that age due to the coasters; which provide the only tangible info to the uninitiated.
    any idea of the makers. Some Howard and son have similar forms and legs but I know there are chairs in that style.

    Howard and Sons sounds reasonable.
