Large Mediterranean charger

    Found this the other day. To me it looks Portuguese, specifically coimbra but a lot of Spanish references on image search.

    No, that's not Portuguese. Ceramics from Coimbra are more densely-patterned and show an Asian influence. (Example below.) Spanish from Talavera de la Reina. Not terribly old.

    Ah okay thanks. I have seen the more densely decorated pieces and saw a similarity in the depiction of animals, so thought they had the same origin. Maybe wrongly so ....
