    YAY!
I woke up to the idea of giving it to an Italian Embassy to get it there but now.... :)

    Sounds so cloak-and-dagger...

My daughter lives in England and will be here for Thanksgiving, so I will send it back with her and she will get it to them.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It's great that it will go to a museum in Italy.

About the translation, it reminded me of a story from a library where I worked long ago. It was the mid 1990s when the Web was just getting started. One of my colleagues had written an early online guide of some kind for our library. She got an email message from somebody in Italy asking her to help with some research project. She laughed a little when she told me that he said he had "a certain urge." We figured he meant "urgency." :cat:

On the other hand, I know how difficult it is to write in a language that one did not grow up with. I have tried to write full paragraphs in Russian before. Yikes!!

Just to close this story, my daughter took the ocarina back to England, her company’s concierge service mailed it to Italy, and I just received this email:

“I received the ancient ocarina by Cesare Vicinelli, it is very beautiful, thanks for the donation.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2018, Fabio Menaglio”

So, thank you all for helping me find a way to get it back to Italy, where it really belonged.

Kind of a short ‘appreciation’ is it not??? :(

It's probably in the guy's third language, so I'd cut him a break.
