    Hello

Anyone have an idea how old this piece is.
Picked it up on a flea today.
It is a little over 1 meter long.
I'm thinking there is some jade and maybe soapstone?
Any value or this is just one of these cheesy decor items.

ya, a cheezy item one would expect in a restaurant or hotel lobby........

but...y'know...on 2nd thought ...looking at it carefully.....it looks in good shape..lots of nicer than average carving...nice mix of stone and color , great faces, well framed.....LARGE..
    and I think it's a legend battle scene ....

So...maybe more high end than one would expect !!!!!

I don't know what you paid.......yer business......but I would have paid the same...or maybe more.....and it would have wall space in my home...straight away !!;)

I'm no asian expert .....but I know what is see and know what I like...........
and I like this one !
They may make lots of these.....but this one doesn't look cheap..!:woot:

Looks all serpentine/soapstone to me, I don't see any jade. Nice detail in the carving, and good faces.
I think it is first half of the 20th century. Cheesy decor, but better than most.:playful:

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! I think even if a decor item, it should be worth more than that just for size! However, there is some attention to detail there, so not so cheesy IMHO.
