Mystery item - brass corbel? Egyptian shape?

    Perusing some local online auctions and came across this item. Looks like a brass corbel? maybe some type of Egyptian motif? Maybe MCM handle/hardware? Anyone have thoughts? There were not other pictures and no clue to any markings. Google Lens didn't bring back much for me.

    Looks like a shelf or mantle support... something like the things that Design Tuscano sells...
    hard to tell if it has any age.
