Not much of a lamp guy, but I couldn't not buy this walking into a local thrift shop for $25. The globe is intact and signed by E Wallace. It looks like it is a converted gas lamp thats been electrified, not sure if or how much that devalues it. Any help on how old or valuable this thing is, and who E Wallace might be?

There was a "Wallace and Sons" making various brass lamps in Connecticut. If memory serves, they went belly up in the mid-1890's. Thomas Wallace founded the company and E Wallace might have been a son? I don't believe they made glass, so the glass parts could have been made by almost any glass house of the day.

I have no clue as to value. Since it has been butchered, a collector would be turned off. However, someone looking for that style lamp may love it. So...???

Wallace was whoever painted the glass, possibly a hobbyist, but not the lamp maker.
