I bought these earrings for 15 euros in Austria. I tested them with gold solution..it stands at 9 and 14 carats. But as you can see, they only seem to be plated with gold. It has 2 hallmarks that are impossible to take a good picture of. Please help me with information. What style is it? about how old? it was worth? Hallmarks (⁸A) (sA) (sL) I think there is something else after that A or L? Ty !

Gorgeous earrings. They look Austrian made, Biedermeier style, but the hooks date from ca 1890-1900.
The small loops at the bottom originally had tiny ball dangles, one on each earring. You can replace those yourself by using gilded ball head pins.
    Great buy.:)
Very likely. They don't have Austrian assay marks for gold. But even gold-plated jewellery of this style is worth much more than what you paid. And there aren't many earrings in this style.

Oddly, the fronts look like gold-filled but the backs look like real gold. But..who knows. If you have a really good magnifying glass or loupe, look at the edge where the front and back are put together. That's the spot where the brass usually shows through, if anywhere.

TY ! :bookworm:I'm a beginner. I love old jewelry. even if I don't know the styles well I sense that they are really old or valuable. I also have other discoveries of gold and silver, but it is difficult to identify the hallmarks etc.
