I have this little 2 1/2" in diameter, 1 1/2" high porcelain trinket box. The top is definitely hand painted with flowers as you can feel the brush strokes on the flowers. It "feels" old but I am not sure. On the bottom Made In in red lettering is sort of visible but not completely because it is covered in a painted on black bird. I am leaning towards Japan as the origin due to the little bit of lettering that can been seen. But Japanese hand painted items are usually more refined and delicate. Do you think hobbyist painted? Thanks for looking and for any help.
